Sustainability with a system
An Overview of the Two-Tier Management System
We Impact is a two-tier sustainability management system for companies and organizations of all sizes and types. It combines quality-assured collection of your ESG data (environmental, social, and governance) with a management structure that improves your processes. This enables you to respond to inquiries from banks, business partners, and funding agencies with verifiable figures and identify sustainability risks before they become costly.
Level 1 is a structured introduction, even for those with no prior experience, and is particularly well-suited for small and medium-sized organizations.
Level 2 is designed for organizations with prior experience and fully integrates the European environmental management system EMAS, expanded to include social and corporate governance aspects.
We Impact is based on recognized standards such as EMAS and ISO 14001 and leads to a certified sustainability management system with an externally audited report in accordance with VSME, the voluntary EU reporting standard for small and medium-sized enterprises. This allows you to demonstrate your sustainability management system through independent verification in loan negotiations, bids, grant applications, and customer inquiries.

System & players
On behalf of and with the support of the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUKN), a system was established that is based on a strategic advisory board and an executive office. With the help of independent impact assessors, these bodies ensure compliance with high standards, continuous improvement, and a high degree of transparency.
Impact
through impact-oriented ESG processing
Your impact
Environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors are systematically addressed and incorporated into the company's day-to-day operations.
This ensures a future-proof structure and a transition toward more sustainable business practices.
This change is taking place within the company, from the inside out.

Who is We Impact for?
Designed to meet your needs
We Impact is primarily designed for medium-sized companies while remaining adaptable for organizations of varying sizes. Offering both entry levels and advanced levels, We Impact ensures that it caters to every company, regardless of their prior experience in the field of sustainability or environmental management.
Independent audit
Tested according to clear standards
Companies that wish to be certified under We Impact are assessed by independent auditors who are specifically approved for the system.
In Stage 1, qualified impact auditors conduct the audit. In Stage 2, it is carried out by EMAS environmental verifiers who hold an additional We Impact qualification.
This ensures the quality of the examination and strengthens the credibility of the certification.
Thinking ahead systematically
Professional support through independent expertise
An independent strategy advisory board oversees the (further) development of the We Impact System and ensures that technical quality, relevance and feasibility remain in focus.
The interdisciplinary committee provides impetus, supports the office in strategic matters and promotes the further development of the system in exchange with practice, science and politics.
By choosing We Impact, you are selecting a system that prioritizes credibility, transparency, and continuous improvement at the core of your sustainability management.
