We congratulate Werner & Mertz on its successful We Impact certification. The Mainz-based family-owned company, known to many for its Frosch brand, was one of the first industrial companies to successfully pass the audit according to the We Impact Standard.
Werner & Mertz has been EMAS-validated for more than 20 years and is one of the pioneers in environmental management. Now the existing management system has been audited for the first time according to the We Impact Standard, which takes equal account of ecological, social and governance aspects. As a result, the company already voluntarily fulfills many of the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Supply Chain Sustainability Act (LkSG) and plays a pioneering role in holistic sustainability management.
Various topics were assessed in the audit. These included skills development and employee participation, comprehensive health management and a binding supplier code of conduct with social, ethical and ecological standards that is regularly reviewed. These areas show how Werner & Mertz integrates sustainability broadly into corporate practice.
We Impact is designed as a certifiable management system that focuses on continuous development. For Werner & Mertz, this means that sustainability management is regularly reviewed and that the company continually sets new goals for improvement. This keeps the process alive and contributes to reliably meeting future legal and social requirements.
The certification was carried out by an independent impact assessor on site in Mainz. We are pleased about the successful completion and the clear message that Werner & Mertz is sending with this step for responsible and sustainable business.
